11/1/09: Damage Control

I’ve been putting this off for a couple of weeks now. But I feel that I have an obligation to do some damage control here. So imagine this…

…imagine that it’s the day of your big housewarming party. You’ve planned everything perfectly—the guest list, the catering, the music, drinks etc, etc. But you’re still stressing out, hoping that everything goes well. Oh yea, and you’re pregnant. So whatever stress you’re feeling is amplified! Okay…

…so now imagine that a flood of *complete strangers* show up to your home an hour before your guests are due to arrive and begin devouring your refreshments! This is exactly how The Blues Jean Bar event played out. And it was all my fault.

Unbeknownst to me that I was not supposed to promote the event. I proudly arrived that night only to discover that I had *INFURIATED* the owner—yikes! Our respective points of view regarding the party had met at 90 degree angles. I was under the impression that it was gong to be a public event. So my line of thinking was, The Blues Jean Bar—>party—>public—>the more, the merrier—>great exposure! However, I don’t think that I’ve EVER been more wrong about anything before in my life! And I take total responsibility for the mix-up as I’d failed to communicate my ideas with the owner directly.

So I’d like to sincerely apologize to everyone who attended due to having seen the event advertised online. It wasn’t your fault that you came; it was mine. And if you felt that you were treated rudely or unfairly that night, please try to see things from the owner’s point of view—her party was ruined. So I think that you’d agree that her feelings were very valid. So again, I deeply apologize to the attendees.  Anyway…

Aside from all that, and back on the design front, I am in full-blown WARRIOR MODE! I am absolutely determined to make a supremely impressive statement for my third production run: season of the MICRONAUTS (part 1). That’s all that I’m willing to share about that for now…

Regarding my current season, the buyer for TBJB recently took the time in order to share more very positive customer feedback with me.  That makes my work worth while.  Your feedback-positive or negative–is invaluable to me.  Anyway…

I’ll keep you all posted.  stay tuned!
